Antenatal classes
Prepare for your baby's birth and the first weeks with your newborn, with a midwife who has been there thousands of times.
Antenatal classes are a way to prepare for your upcoming birth and to learn about your newborn baby. My classes are unbiased and cover everything from natural delivery to caesarean sections, from breastfeeding to bottle feeding.
Classes are also a great way to meet other parents and form a support network as you enter this exciting time in your life.
Why are antenatal classes so important?
They ease your fears
Yes, pregnancy and the arrival of your new bundle of joy is an exciting time. It can be equally frightening, and leave you feeling anxious about your upcoming birth and how you will cope as a new parent.
Recognising your fears is the first step to overcoming them, and preparing and educating yourself about your upcoming birth will ease many of them.
As a childbirth educator, I have the knowledge and experience to answer any questions you have about your worries and fears. Is it the fear of pain, or of the unknown? Once you have addressed your fears, you and your partner will feel confident about what to expect and how you will manage.
You meet other parents
Antenatal classes also give you the opportunity to meet other parents who are going through the same experience and have similar worries. The connections you make can be lifelong, and an amazing support system in the early days of parenthood.
